If you're trying to push your Shopify into FreeAgent, these are the alternatives. We've written the honest version of each one — what it does well, what it doesn't, and where the fork between it and Bridging Ledger lives. None of these pages is a hit job. We point you elsewhere when elsewhere is the right answer.
Bridging Ledger vs Link My Books
Different platforms. Link My Books supports Xero and QuickBooks Online, not FreeAgent. We support FreeAgent, not Xero or QBO. The honest fork is what you want your books to be in.

Quick orientation on tools we're sometimes confused for:
A2X. Xero, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Sage. No FreeAgent. If your books are on one of those, A2X is the established option.
DoubleAgent and ClearingHouse. Stripe and GoCardless into FreeAgent. Excellent at what they do. They don't do Shopify. We don't do Stripe. If you have Stripe revenue and FreeAgent, DoubleAgent is the answer.
Zapier / Make / Zoho Flow. Generic glue. They can move data between Shopify and FreeAgent, but they create invoices — not the bank transaction explanations FreeAgent expects. Workable if you're patient. Not what we do.
FreeAgent's own Shopify integration. Discontinued 30 April 2025. Their support docs now tell you to enter transactions by hand.
